If Someone “bumper Bumped” Your Car …?
10 Comments | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Management
in a parking lot and just left their car parked there kissing your bumper and you came out to your car and saw it – what would you do?
In my case is was less of a kiss and more of a firm thrust. And it was less of a car and more of my brand new baby (2008 Sonata – I know, lame).
What did I do? After I put my crow bar away – deciding not to use it on their car or their face – and wrote them a note saying, “Next time you hit a car causing damage or not you should leave a note – INCONSIDERATE.” (For the record my license plate was a bit bent.)
I’m trying to work on my anger management issues.

What Brand Of Washable Hair Dye Will Work On Brown Hair?
2 Comments | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Management
I have light brown – chesnut hair.
I want to get a purple washable hair dye that washes out with water. I heard that washable hair dyes only show up on bleach blonde hair.
Are there any brands that work on light brown hair?
Thanks.

Is This A Sensible Way To Make A Decision?
3 Comments | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Strategies
i’ve always been indecisive, and i need to get better at making decisions, so i’m pondering my strategies.
If you are shopping for something you are unfamiliar about (in this case bass guitars, when i don’t know how to play yet) and there are probably quite a few reasonable options out there (or at least it’s not possible to know which is best for me till i can play a bit, but i can’t learn till i have one), is it sensible to eliminate a few for slightly spurious reasons then more rationally narrow down the ones left to find a good one. Like rule out a couple of brands for reminding you of other products they make which annoy you (i ruled out yamaha cos they made the horrible recorders they made us play in primary school), i ruled out a few more for being the wrong colour (not black) etc. till there’s 2 or 3 you can consider in detail?

This is understandable in industries like digital forensics, where software code and other proprietary information is closely guarded. A nondisclosure clause in a contract can only be enforced after the damage is done.

My friend just got fired from Target today. He was with the company for 8 years as a manager (team lead) and for 8 years he never received a write-up or got in trouble. In this last 6 months, upper management has changed DRASTICALLY. All the old managers are gone and replaced with new, fresh out of college, business school graduates who we both suspect haven’t worked a day of retail in their lives. Now in just the course of the last 6 months, he was written up for ridiculous reasons (being 2 minutes late) and fired because he didn’t put a sign up. To top it off, they can’t even be honest to their employees and tell the truth that they fired him. They’ve been telling people all day that he just “took the day off”. I only know this because I work at his store as a vendor.
I have many friends at the same store and feel they could be fired for no good apparent reason as well. They are actually afraid for their jobs. A few of my friends, (myself included) have also worked for Target and none of us have anything positive to say about it. Nearly all of us quit (one was terminated) due to Target’s BS “brand” managing.
I know a lot of people say Wal-mart is awful and I think a lot hate Wal-Mart because it takes over small businesses, but I wish I could stress to consumers just how bad Target is too and how awful they treat their employees.
But what do you guys think?
