What Does The Brand Of Cigarettes You Smoke Say About You?
10 Comments | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Management
I was just wondering what – if any – cultural meanings were attached to brands / flavors of cigarettes among smokers. I smoke Marlboro Milds, and I’ve sort of gotten the vibes that this brand has certain stigmas attached to it. Just curious.

I agree with Lady. I am an African American woman of Latin descent and I find that the majority of Blacks i know smoke Newports as opposed to my father’s family who is Hispanic and they all smoke Marlboro and ONLY Marlboro because it is more popular, and has that name. As opposed to Newports which kind of have a negative stigma attached to it.

n1gg3r5 like to smoke newports i guess becuz they like fiberglass in their filters. [brand] lights and ultra lights are the pu55y cigs. mids are chill people, not druggies. regulars are the same (only if they are not oversmoked).

Quit years ago, but when I did smoke…it was Marlboro in the box and Kools when I had a cold or sore throat.

As much as some may not want to read or agree with this…..
Certain brands are say attached to certain races. Some brands even say volumes about your financial status.
And you have Marlboro……. that is the most common brand, even non smokers know the name well. Considering the past, and very public law suits this may be what your feeling about your brand.
I smoke Marlboro as well, and wouldnt smoke anything else.
