I’ve been using a D-Link DI-624 24×7 for about 16 mos. now. I get very good/reliable signal up to the 2nd floor even at medium power setting. PCs and PDA, all have reliable connections. I’m very satisfied.
My DSL modem and D-Link router run pretty cool in the vertical position. There is no trapped hot air. Hot air just goes out the top vent and cool air enters the bottom vent.

I just purchased a D-Link DI-524 router/wireless access point, (Note- NO modem, you need a seperate modem). It worked straight out of the box following the included instructions.
This was impressive as my ISP does not support routers, only stand alone computers.

i’ve always used D-LINK and never had a problem for the last 5 years…my friends has a netgear and his is stable too…we use them for video games on computer and a nintendo DS..so they are abused and keep going without a glitch

Belkin and Linksys are both bad. D-Link is good but it’s Wi-Fi radius tends to shrink after a few months. Other than that, any known brand should be okay. Be sure to wait for specials before buying one. Markdowns can get pretty big during sales, as stores typically use routers as loss leaders to get customers in through the door.
