Homework Help: Liquidating Other Companies’ Inventory That Is Financed By Your Company?
1 Comment | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Strategies
Turn on your marketing brains! My professor asked us to imagine that we are loan company. We have given loans to car dealerships to buy inventory. Now, we want to run a marketing campaign to help the dealers liquidate these cars so that they can repay their loans. What kind of strategies can we use to sell JUST the cars that have been financed by us? So, if a dealer sells Toyotas and Hondas, and we gave them a loan to buy their Toyota inventory, then we only care about liquidating the Toyotas. The catch is that we cannot use our company name because the end consumer doesn’t care who the inventory was financed by…so it has to be a generic tactic that will draw attention to just the Toyotas in the lot. Legally, we also cannot run a sale using the Toyota brand.
I was given the assignment to make a tows matrix using the swot analysis of an indian watch company ‘HMT’ Below is the swot analysis of HMT can anyone please make a tows matrix of swot analysis below.Best answer 10 pts ![]()
SWOT analysis of HMT:
Strengths:
Mechanical watches: HMT is the market leader in mechanical watches which serves to the lower segment of the society. HMT has a strong hold in this segment but to make sure that players like titan and timex do not occupy the stance HMT needs to do its homework.
Brand equity: HMT has a very strong brand image. People know HMT because of its quality and reliability.
Production and training facility: production facility is flexible enough to adapt to new technologies. Training program is one of the best in the country.
Industrial relations: company has very good industrial relations. Till today company did not encounter any kind of labor or industrial relations problem which can put company in to jeopardy.
Adequate assets: company has commensurate amount of land, building and machinery available.
Weaknesses:
No emphasis on R&D and design: HMT did not pay much attention to aesthetics and design. While its competitor titan kept innovating its products with latest technology, features and design, HMT was still grappling with its basic design models.
Retailer policy: HMT did not have control measures over its retailers; hence they lost control over prices and the trade.
Lack of team spirit and awareness: HMT’s motivational strategies-punishment/reward have been inadequate, resulting in low utilization of human and machine capacities.
Trade audits: No regular trade audit was being carried out by the company to check what was actually happening in the market.
Management levels: The ground level HMT staff has nearly six rungs of bureaucracy to go through before a general manager in sales or marketing could take a field decision.
Opportunities:
Diversification of products: there are good diversification possibilities in products. Apart from mechanical watches HMT can also focus on anadigi, digiana, multifunction, digital, stopwatch, alarm, thin etc.
Exports: export market can be tapped.
Market segmentation: company can expand the market launching products suitable for different customer profiles e.g.: youth, gift fashion, sports, novelty etc.
Enlarge network of sale outlets: An effective distribution system is mandatory for company’s success.
Product improvement: Company can manufacture product based on current customer preferences, combining technology and aesthetic appeal together to enhance the experience.
Threats:
From competitors: titan, timex, citizen, swatch etc.
Spurious operators: People who indulge in fraudulent activities. Misusing the brand name.
Authorized service agents: For foreign smuggled watches.
Regional players: With their cheap prices and availability.
Unorganized manufacturing.
So I live in an apartment and our ceiling has been leaking for 9 months minus the time it was freezing out. Anyways I alerted management about the problem in August and nothing happened. So in November I wrote a letter saying they need to fix it otherwise we will with hold rent. They “fixed” it that jan. Well the beginning of April it started to leak again. and they “fixed” it again. Well now we have 3 leaks all around our living room one which is on a light fixture in the ceiling. Everytime it has rained since Aug we have had to move all of our furniture out of our living room. Also it has leaked on my brand new couches many times!!!! I told them they are responsible for the damage…they said they weren’t because it was in our lease. Well I believe minnesota state law says even if its in the lease if it is a problem the land lord was aware of and they didn’t fix it in a timely manner they would be responsible. Right?? I plan on taking them to small claims court to get them to pay for

Insurance Marketing And Strategies Tips – Help!!!!?
2 Comments | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Strategies
I was in the mortgage industry and have now switched careers to the insurance industry. I am working in my home town where I have a TON of personal as well as business contacts. I just passed my property and casualty test so as far as production, it’s still a couple of months out. I have already sent an email to the people I know letting them know about my new endeavor. I am looking for some help from you (the professionals) regarding what I should do to start ramping up my business and contacts before I start producing. I am working for a national insurance company and need to concentrate on branding my name rather than the company name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i really need help. i was with this long time and coult not find nothing good.
Hello! I am in need of assistance. I am going to build a budget gaming PC. I am aiming for something that does not push $500 (US). I am taking parts from my old PC which are the hard drive (WD 160GB 7200 RPM), the operating system (Windows XP 32bit), the mouse, the keyboard, and the CD and DVD ROMs. I already have a monitor (Samsung T240HD 24″ 1920 by 1200).
I want to play strategy games like Sins of a Solar Empire and Age of Empires III.
I already picked (haven’t bought it yet) a case Antec 300, which looks good (looks aren’t that important to me) and has some great reviews.
Newegg.com – Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case – Computer Cases
I want to go Intel on the processor. Duo or Quad core? I want some future proof. Q8200 vs E8400
On motherboards, I heard that Gigabyte and Asus are great companies to choose from.
I was thinking about getting 2×2GB of RAM but not sure what brand and what speed (1066 or whatever)
On graphic cards, I seriously have no idea taking in consideration my budget and my monitor. I heard about the HD4870 and the GTX260 and the 9800 GT……
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CRITICIZE ME ON ANYTHING OR GIVE IDEAS/QUESTIONS AND PLEASE POST LINKS ESPECIALLY IF THEY LEAD TO NEWEGG.COM WHICH IS WHERE I WILL MOST LIKELY GET MY PARTS. Thanks a lot!!!!!
P.S. I will upgrade the OS and hard drive and CD/DVD ROMs later if needed.

Help With Paying Less For A Macbook Pro?
2 Comments | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Strategies
I’m a college student who just broke her first 13-inch brand-new Mac, and is looking to replace it. I need my own computer to do work, write papers, etc. And apparently, spilling water on your Macbook isn’t covered by the Apple warranty.
The family budget was spent on the first Macbook, so I’m trying to bring the cost down as much as possible. If I don’t, I have to spend my tuition money. I’ve got the education discount, a Disney company discount, and a $100 printer I might be able to sell…but that’s the brunt of my strategy for a new Mac. I looked online, but Amazon etc. only sells them for about $200 less, max. If I get a refurbished laptop from Apple, does the student discount still apply? Can I combine discounts?
Does anyone have any other ideas as to how I can bring the cost down or other things I could do?

Installed New Laptop Hard Drive. Need Help With Partitions.?
1 Comment | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Management
While installing my new 250GB laptop hard drive I made a 25GB partition to use for the operating system and computer drivers/utilities. Under disk Management it shows the 25GB as only 24.41GB labled (C:) and the rest of the drive 208.47GB as unallocated.
Questions:
1) If I want all my other downloads to go to the unallocated space should I right click on it and make it a 208.47GB partition? If so I would assume I would have to lable it another letter, but how to I designate which partition to save things in? Maybe after there are 2 partitions it will ask me which to save in.
2) Will the computer know to use the (C:) partition as the primary?
3) Will my 208.47GB area that I want to save downloads like music in be called the “extended” partition?
4) If my brand new Western Digital Scorpio Blue 2.5″ EIDE internal laptop hard drive claims it’s 250GB why is it only showing 232.88 on my Disk Management page? I know some space is used , but not 17.12GB.
Thanks for your help!!!

Video Ranks Low On Everex Gpc! Need Help!?
1 Comment | Posted by Brand McNaut in Brand Management
As I keep asking, My PC is an Everex gPC. The video quality ranks pretty low on there and can’t stop lagging on video (any video-from the hard drive to the internet-are all the same speed and quality). Any way to over come this? Can I buy a graphics card that will be a reasonable solution to the problem? Or will this just weigh down the already low-quality based machine?
Need any help possible! Points to the most workable solution.
Thank you.
